Harmonic Issues and Solutions for Modern Power Systems
Wednesday, December 10, 2014
Ashish Bendre
TCI (Trans-Coil)
About the Topic
Electrical power systems in today's industrial facilities and water/wastewater plants face current and voltage harmonic issues that can increase energy costs, reduce equipment life and reduce plant uptime.
In this seminar TCI, LLC will present practical engineering information about
- The causes of increased harmonic currents and voltages
- How they affect electrical power systems
- 2014 updated revision of IEEE-519 Recommended Standard on Harmonics
- Technologies and solutions to mitigate harmonics to improve plant operations.
About the Speaker
Dr. Ashish Bendre is the President and Chief Operating Officer at TCI LLC, a leading provider of power quality products and solutions. TCI is the only North American original equipment manufacturer of both electronic and magnetic power quality products. Prior to TCI, Dr. Bendre was the Director of Technology at DRS Technologies where he led research activities focused on naval power conversion. Dr. Bendre earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Madison.
