About the Topic
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is the platform for ComEd's smart meter
deployment. AMI includes sensors (smart meters), communication networks, data
analytics, and remote control. Join us to learn more about ComEd's smart meter
rollout and the benefits of AMI.
The talk will include the following topics:

- Common communications network - shared Silver Spring Networks devices for backhaul

About the Speaker
David Doherty is Director of Smart Meter Business Transformation at ComEd. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from DePaul. He has worked in the utility industry since 1990 working for ComEd/Exelon Energy Delivery, Andersen Consulting/Accenture, and a small firm that was acquired by Black & Veatch. His first smart meter project was in 1998 evaluating Enron's advanced metering in California.

IEEE technical meetings may be acceptable as continuing education where
required for maintenance of professional engineering licensure. Refer to
