Implementation of Electricity Storage in the Utility Grid

Wednesday, December 12, 2007

Bradford Roberts

S&C Electric Company

About the Topic

Large scale storage of electricity offers tremendous opportunities for the electric power industry to optimize the generation and use of electricity worldwide. With the growing concern for global warming, broader applications of electricity storage are starting to occur in utility grids.

This presentation will show examples of how large scale sodium sulfur (NAS) batteries are being applied in the grid to provide peak load control, improve system reliability and store wind energy to maximize the benefit of renewables.
