Highlights of 2007 NESC Changes and Some Often Overlooked NESC Rules

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Christopher Lee Brooks

S&C Electric Co.

About the Topic

The NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) is one of the most important documents that an electric utility can have and adhere to. It frames the safety boundaries for maintenance, construction and design. It also provides a rich source of years of evolving knowledge that represents a practical set of rules that are now updated every five years. These rules and tables have been developed for the safety of the public, utility employees, and the safe operation of the equipment itself. This presentation will include some highlights of the 2007 NESC changes and point out some often overlooked rules from the Code.
