Doug Staszesky will present a technical discussion of PulseClosing (TM) - a new method for testing overhead lines for faults that does not expose lines and equipment to high energy faults - and eliminates voltage sags for power customers. He will also review a new approach to development of line protection settings - and maintaining settings throughout automated feeder restoration.
Doug is the Director of Product Management for S&C Electric Company's Automation Systems Division. Doug is responsible for marketing, customer service and application engineering services for the Division which provides a wide range of distribution automation related products and services for the electric power delivery industry.
Doug has held several other positions during the 25 years he has worked in the utility industry, including various engineering positions at Public Service Electric & Gas Company of New Jersey where he was responsible for distribution system planning and design, as well as heading the customer complaints group in a field division. He also had responsibility for operating the distribution SCADA system in the Division.
Doug is past-chairman of the Edison Electrical Institute Distribution Automation Working Group and vice-chairman of the Power Quality Working Group. Doug is the Vice-Chair of the IEEE/PES Distribution Automation Working Group. He retains memberships in the IEEE Power Engineering Society and the Distribution Automation subcommittee for IEEE.
Doug attained a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1981.
