As transmission systems become larger and more complex, dispatchers are required to process and react to increasing amounts of information. This presentation describes some of the technologies put into place in ComEd's control room to assist the dispatchers in visualizing real-time information.
David Schooley has been employed as a Senior Engineer at ComEd's Transmission Operations facility in Lombard, Illinois since 1998, where he has been involved in load forecasting, demand side management, and research activities to improve the real-time monitoring of the electrical grid.
Dr. Schooley received his BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Oklahoma State Univerisity and his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois.
