At the upcoming Awards Recognition Dinner, the IEEE Chicago Section will recognize the members that were elevated to "Fellow" status over the past two years. In addition, various awards will be presented to members for outstanding service to the Section.
The format of this event is a change from the past. This year we will have a meal served family style and at a suburban location in order to lower expenses and save time for our members. Additionally the day has been moved to a Wednesday from the traditional weekend in an effort to unload the already hectic weekend schedules of some members. Following dinner a presentation will be made on a new medical technique for improving the odds of surviving cardiac arrest or stroke. The awards and recognition will follow the presentation.
The event is advertised in the May issue of Scanfax. It will be held at the Wilton Manor (a banquet hall) located at 2200 N. Main Street in Wheaton. The ticket price is $25 per person. Reservations should be made by telephone and in advance to the IEEE business office (800-898-4333) at the Western Society of Engineers.
As a part of the program, we will recognize those chapters in attendance with the intent that interested parties may want to get involved in their activities.
Should you have any question you may contact either of the event cochairpersons, Norm Phoenix or Connie Kelly. The contact numbers are (847) 523-1078 and (847) 670-4630.
