About the Speakers
- Main Speaker:
- Gregory C. Mears
Project Engineer, S&C Electric Company
Mr. Mears has implemented creative innovations into manufacturing
in areas of circuit design, packaging and installation. He has
applied for 7 US and International Patents for various product
designs, tested and certified products to meet industry and
regulatory standards and developed a product that is capable of
indicating the presence of a high voltage AC signal with a low
self-powered logic circuit. This product utilizes a solar cell
powered reliability-test feature which allows the customer to test
the equipment with only a flashlight. Project example involved
developing a control and power supply system that is incorporated
into a high-voltage static transfer switch. The system implements
fiber optic technology, proprietary communication protocols and
power supply designs.
Mr. Mears is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, DeKalb,
Illinois with a Bachelor of Science-Electrical Engineering, 1991
and is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering Management from
Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, expected graduation
date, June 1999.
