Tommy,

Use these settings:

Protocol - ssh2
Hostname - vulcan.ece.iit.edu
Port - 22
Username - 1st character of your first name + upto 7 characters of your last
name
Cipher - 3DES
Mac - MD5
Authentication - Password
SSH Server - Standard

After you set this, you will be able to login.

Rajiv

Hi,

I am having problem logging to the network remotely. I used the
Secure CRT software to telnet to vulcan.ece.iit.edu but an error
message pops up said "The remote system refused the connection". What
special setting do I need to do? Please help. I need step by step
setting.

I used a router to connect to internet. Will that need special setup
too....

Regards,
Tommy Ho

Tommy,

You cannot use telnet to connect to vulcan. You must use ssh2. I
don't have SecureCRT on this computer so I can't tell you exactly what
to do, but there should be an option box for it. Also, I think you
have to change a setting at the bottom to General. I wish I could be
more specific. If you get it working, please let us know exactly what
you did.

Steve
